The June 1st concert by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra is touted as one of the most anticipated events of the year in the community, drawing well over a thousand families and community members to Main Street for an evening of great food and music.

We are thrilled to be share the 22nd annual #MarineScienceDay open house event on Saturday, June 1, 2024. For one day a year only, nearly every corner of the VIMS campus is open to the public to speak to their scientists and students while getting a behind-the-scenes look at the important research and advisory services VIMS provides to the Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond!

Located in Gloucester Point, this fun-filled family-friendly event features exhibits, children's activities, seining in the York River, tours, seafood cooking demonstrations, mini-lectures, and more. This event is completely free, open to the public, and takes place rain or shine! All exhibits and timed activities are included with entry. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on site throughout the event.

We are so excited to kick off the Concerts On The Green Summer Series with a new face ! Mike Reed will be playing on May 22nd. This is a FREE community event. Grab dinner to go, a blanket or chair, and come and enjoy great live music and even better company! This is a family friendly & pet friendly event ( please keep all pets on a leash). Alcohol is not allowed at this event.

A Yorktown, Va native, Mike has always had a passion for music. He is eager to share his love for a good tune and meaningful lyrics. Whether it's a Tuesday night or Saturday at Happy Hour, Mike is always ready to bring the good times and amazing music. When he is not playing his heart out, you can find Mike with his wife, Joyce and two boys, Mikey and Logan, spending time with friends, enjoying nature, playing lead guitar and signing with The Mullins Sisters, or preparing for his next gig. Mike is currently booking both public and private events.

The Gloucester Farmers Market at Historic Ware Church will take place on the second Saturday of the month, May through September, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Ware Church is located one mile from Gloucester Court House on Route 14.  The ample parking, shaded market, and scenic views make this an enjoyable day out for all. Come and support the local farmers, skilled artisans, and fresh goods, all while exploring the beautiful setting of Historic Ware Church.  We also plan to have food trucks and live entertainment.
