TROPICAL STORM OPHELIA

Storm Preparation

Gloucester County Emergency Management is currently monitoring the weather event and impacts we may have to our area. We are expecting strong winds and possible flooding to flood prone areas. Please take necessary precautions. Remember, “If you can pick it up, put it up. If you can’t pick it up, tie it down.”

At this time, shelters are not needed. Please make sure to charge all mobile devices and put together a Basic Disaster Supplies Kit. This includes water (one gallon per person for several days), food, a battery powered radio, flashlight, first aid kit, and extra batteries.

Lastly, never drive in flooded areas. Six inches of moving water can knock you down, and 12 inches of water can move a vehicle.

If you have not already done so, make sure to sign up for the Gloucester County Emergency Notification System, by clicking the button above or by calling 804-693-1390. After doing so, you will be notified of all threats to your home, road closures, and weather updates.
