4:00 PM in the Historic Gloucester Court House.

The dastardly Banastre Tarleton, better known as Bloody Ban or The Butcher, returns to the scene of his last military engagement – Gloucester’s 1781 Battle of the Hook. History comes alive at this free and family-friendly theatrical performance held in the iconic 1766 Gloucester Court House.

Boo, hiss, ask questions. Bloody Ban Tarleton will have to answer to you for his despicable deeds. Experience the Battle of the Hook, the largest cavalry engagement of the Revolution as told by the dashing British commander whose arrogance and ability defined the battle but could not defeat French and American forces.

Theatrical performance by Mark Schneider of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.

This event is hosted by the Gloucester Museum of History, Gloucester Museum Foundation, and the Gloucester Historical Society

The Gloucester Living History Weekend is a two day event held on the lawn of the Gloucester Museum of History on Main Street. Saturday 10AM-4PM & Sunday 10AM-3PM.
