Join us this summer for hands-on outdoor adventures! We're offering three exciting theme weeks designed to spark curiosity and build a love of the natural world. Explore the tiny but mighty world of insects and other invertebrates, discover fascinating facts about animals at Beaverdam Park, or test your skills during our Survivor week with outdoor challenges and teamwork activities. Each week is packed with exploration, crafts, games, and unforgettable nature experiences. Dress to get dirty, to be outdoors and wear sturdy shoes (no open toe, open back, slides or flip flops). Bring a lunch and water each day.

Invertebrates Camp : Ages 6-8 | Max Count 20 | June 22-25 – deadline 6/15
Get ready for a wiggly, giggly adventure! Campers will hike to find tiny creatures in their natural habitats, play fun games, create awesome crafts and learn from Park Rangers and Virginia Master Naturalists! This camp is all about discovery, creativity and having fun in nature. Perfect for young explorers who love getting their hands dirty and their imaginations buzzing!
All About Animals Camp: Ages 6-8 | Max Count 20 | July 20-23 – deadline 7/13
Join Park Rangers and Virginia Master Naturalists for an exciting outdoor adventure and discover the amazing world of animals! Campers will dive into hands-on learning as they explore birds, fish, reptiles, and mammals though fun activities and guided discovery. Each day focuses on a different group of animals, helping kids understand how they live, move, and survive in their habitats.
Survivor Camp: Ages 9-12 | August 10-13 – deadline 8/3
Get ready for an unforgettable outdoor experience where adventure meets learning! Campers will take on exciting survivor-style challenges, team competitions and strategy games inspired by the natural world. Campers will build real outdoor skills like shelter building, navigation, and teamwork while exploring nature and learning about local ecosystems from Park Rangers and Virginia Master Naturalists.
Registration for these camps opens May 11th for Gloucester residents and 13th for non-residents.
